Junior Aide Award

The Junior Aide Award is what the girls can achieve when they explore this area of leadership. This award is more then just a badge. This Award tests the girls skills and it teaches them about leadership. The requirements are quite invovled and any girl who earns this award has worked very hard to do so.
Requirement What the girls have done
Get Ready: Talk with your GS Leader or the person who is helping you in GS about becoming a Junior Aide. With her help find a troop of younger GS you can work with. The girls who were interested in earning their Junior Aide and I sat down and discussed what would be involved. They decided to work with a new Brownie Troop at our site. This would help them as well as the new Brownie Leader. We came up with an action plan that laid out the steps the girls would take to achieve their goal.
Get Set: Talk to the leader of the troop you will be working with. Find out what you can do to help. Arrnage with the leader when a good time and dates will be that you can get together with her troop. Discuss with her the activities that you would like to lead with her troop for at least 3 meetings. The girls decided that since the brownies were new and the leader was also new they would teach them some girl scout songs and also help the troop to earn a brownie Try-It.
Go! Meet with the younger girls. Partner with an adult leader to guide the activities you chose. See our action plan for what we actually did with the Brownie Troop.
