There is always a mandatory parent meeting scheduled before any camping trip we go on.
All permission slips, health history and medical authorization forms are due then.
Please let your daughter do her own packing for camp. When she is there she will need to know where everything is and she will need to repack her things on Sunday for the return trip. We recommend that all luggage be lined with large plastic bags, this helps to keep your items dry. All luggage must have the camper's name and the name of our unit,(Name of unit varies from trip to trip; you will be notified in advance of the unit name) on it. Sleeping bags should be double wrapped in large plastic bags. All Equipment should be as compact as possible. Remember your daughter has to carry her own gear on Sunday, so they should use a bag that they can easily carry. Please don't pack good cloths. Campers play hard outdoors and their clothing gets dirty. We are aware that many girls have cell phones, personal CD or MP3 players and other electronic devices. If they must bring them then they are responsible for keeping them safe. Jewelry should be left at home. The girls may bring a small amount of money to spend at the Trading Post. Please make sure your things have your name clearly labeled on them. It gets very confusing when there are many items that are exactly alike around camp. Also bathroom items should be in Large gallon size zip-lock bags with your name on them. These items are stored in the bathroom and it is easier to know your own if the zip lock is labeled All girls who have shoulder length or longer hair will be required to keep it pulled back or braided. This is a safety issue. Girls will also be required to keep their heads covered either with a bandana or a hat at all times. This is to reduce the risk of bugs getting in anyone's hair.
