For this badge the girls worked on creating their own puzzles and mazes. We had some fun checking out some optical illusions as well. We also learned how to play a new game called Picara.
Mazes
Design your own maze on paper. Give your maze a theme. Add pictures to make it more interesting. Make copies of your aze and ask at least two other people to solve it. Bring your maze in to meeting to get credit for this activity.

Picara
Picara is a game played by the Zuni people of the southwestern part of the United States. It is thought thatthe first form of the game was created by Arabian people who lived in Northwestern Africa.. They introduced it to Spain hundreds and hundreds of years ago. Spanish travelers brought the game with them to the US more then 400 years ago.

Word Scrambles are a type of puzzle. For example, the letters, "nanaba" can be unscrambled to spell the word "banana." Choose a topic, such as sports, books, or Girl Scouts. Scramble the letters of ten words on that topic. Copy your puzzle and try it out on your family, friends, or troop. Bring your word scramble to meeting to get credit for this activity.

Make up a word search using a piece of graph paper or a grid that you create. Choose a theme or a title that reflects the words that can be found, such as weather, school, or seasons. Include at least 10 words in your search. Ask family or friends to find the hidden words. Bring a copy of your word search to meeting to receive credit for this activity.
